New Shipment of Sacha Inchi Oil!I’m happy to announce we just received a fresh shipment of Sacha Inchi oil. However, we did not receive the amount we had originally requested, and I want to share with you the reason why and how important it is to support reputable business. It was early morning January 9, 2008, our friend and business associate, Señor Alfonso, set out on a trip to the jungle town of Tarapoto for the purpose of purchasing land for farming Sacha Inchi. This land was scheduled to be used for harvesting lumber, cutting down virtually every tree in site. Now, that we have acquired it, we will hire farmers to plant a very sustainable crop of Sacha Inchi.
Señor Pedro, Sacha Inchi farmer These new farmers will be preserving the trees and working the land in a more environmentally friendly manner. The second purpose of his trip was to purchase seeds of Sacha Inchi from other farmers. What he discovered was very surprising, but very typical of modern enterprise. The same stories were told to him by many farmers, stories of “promised wealth” to all the farmers who grew Sacha Inchi and provided to only certain exporters. The promise was that when news of Sacha Inchi reached the Untied States with its high content of Omega-3, and how it is highly beneficial for the American diet, there would be great demand, and huge sales making huge fortunes for the farmers. These unscrupulous businessmen would buy up all the Sacha Inchi from the farmers, produce the oil by the cheapest possible means and make millions shipping it to the United States. These same unscrupulous businessmen quickly discovered a critical mistake; they lacked marketing skills. Little did they know the people of America need to be educated as to the nutritional benefits of a food before the sales occur. Needless to say, the poor farmers were the ones who suffered. With many fields of Sacha Inchi planted and the exporters not being true to their promise. The poor farmers were stuck with worthless crops. They were outraged that all their hard work was wasted, not to mention they had no income to show for it. In their anger, the farmers burned and plowed the fields and replanted with different crops, some being non-indigenous to the rainforest. Señor Alfonso was shocked to hear this news, but earned anew the trust of these same farmers, and gave them a real promise - that as the American people were educated about Sacha Inchi, discovered the amazing health benefits received by this all natural source of Omega-3, sales would indeed increase. As this occurs (not before), Señor Alfonso will establish a contract with all the farmers of Sacha Inchi to ensure them that all their seeds would be purchased when needed. The farmers agreed because they know of our company, we have been there to meet them, visited their fields, seen first hand their farms, the way they harvest, and move the seeds to be produced into roasted nuts and oil.
The farmers are ready to grow more Sacha Inchi plants providing us with more seeds for shipment to North America, due to our reputation and trust. The point of this story is to show how we are helping the farmers of the Peurvian Amazon, preserving their rainforest and building for the future of Sacha Inchi.
